Group 3: Religion

As historians of the religious domain of Rome, it is your job to let people know who the Romans worshiped and why.  You need to find out the details of how, why and when religion took place in Rome.  In the end you must be able to answer these questions within your presentation (make sure that if the answers to the questions include certain occurrences or works you and your group need to include the dates):

1.      Is there one god in Roman society? If not, how many are there and what are they for?  What type of society is it, ___?

2.      Who is allowed to participate in rituals?

3.      When did the Romans celebrate and worship?

4.      Where did the Romans go to worship?

5.      How did religion develop as the Roman culture changed and grew?

6.      How is religion different in the United States here in the 21st Century?  Is there one religion or many?

After you have read your questions, think as a group if there is more that you and your classmates may want to know on the subject.  Afterwards, divide the questions up between you and formulate a time line in which you want to pull your resources/answers together.  As a group decide on exactly how you want to present.  Remember, the use of technology is encouraged, not necessarily required.  However, for the final project, there will be a works cited page required.  This includes all of the resources that you have used to form the final presentation (internet and non-internet).
